Paul Basile is/was the frontman and primary songwriter of the New York City band Great Elk. Since the release of their excellent 2015 LP "STAR STUFF" and Paul's move back to Alaska in the same year, he's mostly been quiet, instead focusing on other pursuits like Dadding and sled dog race management.

 But in the last year or so, Paul has resumed some limited touring and resumed collaborating with the rest of the Great Elk guys.​
